Hugh Watkins FRS is Radcliffe Professor of Medicine and Head of the Radcliffe Department of Medicine, and Director of the British Heart Foundation Centre of Research Excellence, at the University of Oxford.

He uses genetic analysis of cardiovascular diseases to improve diagnosis, define disease mechanisms and identify novel therapeutic targets.
