Dr. Narayan is Professor of Medicine, Director of the NIH T32 Computational Medicine Training Program (CHIP) and Co-Director of the Arrhythmia Center at Stanford University. His laboratory works at the intersection of cardiac electrophysiology, bioengineering and data science to improve patient care. His group pioneered computerized mapping for AF and VT, mechanistic studies on localized conduction and repolarization dynamics, and their integration with imaging and other biophysical datasets to guide therapy. His group has been funded continuously since 2001 by the U.S. National Institutes of Health, Fulbright Foundation and other agencies.
He has trained in medicine, computer and data science at Birmingham UK, UCLA, Harvard/Mount Auburn, Washington University and the University of California Berkeley. Our trainees have won research prizes each year since 2003, and Dr. Narayan received the Distinguished Scientist Award from the Heart Rhythm Society in 2022.
He and his wife have 3 children and together they love travel, going to the gym, learning languages and history.
