Gavin Chu

Position: Consultant Cardiologist and Electrophysiologist
Location: Lancashire, UK

Dr Gavin Chu is an EHRA-accredited Consultant Electrophysiologist at the Lancashire Cardiac Centre, Blackpool Victoria Hospital. He graduated from the University of Cambridge, followed by cardiology training in the East of England and the East Midlands. He completed his PhD at the University of Leicester, conceiving and implementing a clinical/bioengineering translational study of non-contact mapping in persistent AF, with a focus on whole chamber spectral analysis. This research was presented as a finalist at the HRC Young Investigator Competition. Gavin also has significant experience in running clinical trials, including a previous role as the national co-ordinator for the EAST-AFNET 4 trial in the UK. Following his completion of cardiology training, Gavin undertook internationally renowned fellowships at the Royal Melbourne Hospital in Australia as well as the Liverpool Heart and Chest Hospital. He was also selected for and has completed the British Cardiovascular Society’s Emerging Leaders Programme as part of the 22/23 cohort.
