Derek Connelly is a Consultant Cardiologist at the Golden Jubilee National Hospital and at Glasgow Royal Infirmary. He is an Honorary Clinical Professor at the School of Cardiovascular and Metabolic Health, University of Glasgow.  He is a former President of the British Heart Rhythm Society, a co-founder and former trustee of the Arrhythmia Alliance, a co-founder of the UK Heart Rhythm Congress, and the lead author of the SIGN guidelines on cardiac arrhythmias in coronary heart disease.
