Susan Etheridge

Position: Fellowship Director of the Pediatric Cardiology Program
Location: Utah US

My research and career focus are arrhythmias in children including inherited arrhythmias and sudden death in the young. I have directed local and multicenter collaborative projects on LQTS, SVT and Wolff-Parkinson-White Syndrome in children. I am part of a number of multicenter projects concerning pediatric arrhythmias and sudden death in the young including and am involved in multicenter projects on exercise and LQTS and hypertrophic cardiomyopathy and ICD implantation in HCM and studies investigating fetal LQTS, and studies looking at CPVT. I am presently lead investigator of a multicenter study of WPW in children and investigator on the NHLBI Sudden Death in the Young project. I am an invited speaker at local, national and international meetings, asked to speak on issues and conditions related to sudden death in the young. I have co-written book chapters and invited editorials related to WPW and other sudden death conditions.

I am the fellowship director of the pediatric cardiology program at the University of Utah and created and run the Inherited Arrhythmia clinic at our institution. I am on the program committee for the Heart Rhythm Society scientific sessions and Sudden Arrhythmia Death Foundation annual meeting as well as for the American College of Cardiology scientific sessions. I was past treasurer and past president of the Pediatric and Congenital Electrophysiology Society. I am a fellow of Heart Rhythm Society, American College of Cardiology, American Heart Association and American Academy of Pediatrics. I am a member of the Council of Cardiovascular Disease in the Young Section of the American Heart Association and the Vice President of the Sudden Arrhythmia Death Foundation. I am on the American Board of Pediatrics, pediatric cardiology subsection.
