Professor Rose Anne Kenny is a clinician and founding director of the Falls and Syncope Unit at St James Hospital and Trinity College Dublin. The focus of her research is on the physiological and biological pathways that underpin Neurocardiovascular and Musculoskeletal Function and modifiable risk factors and novel interventions for Syncope and for falls. For this work she is using clinical cohorts coupled with a large population representative longitudinal study of adults over 50 years- TILDA- which she established. Before joining faculty at Trinity College in 2006 she was Professor of Cardiovascular Research at the University of Newcastle Upon Tyne where she established a busy regional syncope unit. She has published more than 400 research papers, review articles and book chapters and has received numerous awards for her research and clinical service.
