Sarju Mehta

Position: Consultant in Clinical Genetics
Location: Cambridge UK

Dr Mehta is a Consultant in Clinical Genetics at Addenbrookes Hospital, Cambridge.

He trained in Clinical Genetics in Manchester and spent 17 months as a Research Fellow at the Children’s Hospital, Boston before returning to clinical training and gained his CCST in 2006. He was appointed as a Consultant at Addenbrookes the same year and has been Genetics lead for the ICC clinic since 2007. Over the last few years he has been involved in setting up a separate Loeys-Dietz/Vascular Ehlers Danlos clinic and MDT. He has driven the translation of NGS technologies from a research tool to clinical practice and has developed various cardiac gene panels in collaboration with the NHS lab. He is actively involved in various exome and genome sequencing projects as well as collaborations with basic scientists. He is a member of the 100,000 Genomes Cardiovascular GeCIP. He has advised at various UKGTN workshops on ICC matters.    He is a council member of the Association for Inherited Cardiac Conditions
