Position: Consultant Cardiologist & Electrophysiologist

Dr Sajad Hayat qualified from the University of Manchester in 1999 and completed his cardiology training in London. His sub-specialty training was completed at Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust and Ospedale San Rafaelle, Milan. He has extensive experience in adopting novel electrophysiology technologies and 3D mapping systems for the treatment of complex arrhythmias.

He was appointed as Consultant Cardiologist and Electrophysiologist at University Hospitals Coventry and Warwickshire in 2015. His current practice involves all aspects of electrophysiology and management of cardiac arrhythmias, including catheter ablation, implantation of complex devices.

In addition to his interest in atrial fibrillation he has considerable expertise in vasovagal syncope, POTS and IST, having been a prominent figure in the Syncope Service at Imperial.

Dr Hayat has particular research interests in novel treatments for syncope, mapping of atrial fibrillation and the role of the autonomic nervous system in cardiac arrhythmias.
