Dr Asgari has worked as a consultant cardiologist since 2015. He is one of the STARS Trustees. Alongside STARS, he has been engaged in several educational activities to raise awareness and understanding in Syncope and PoTS. He was the program director for the 1st Int'l Syncope Study days in East Kent NHS Hospitals as well as North west NHS Trust. He set up the only NHS based PoTS specialist clinic in Scotland which ran for about three years. He is actively campaigning on the issue of the lack of specialist clinics for PoTS patients in Scotland. He has had several lectures for GPs, nurses and physiotherapists on PoTS diagnosis and management. He was a member of clinical subject matter expert group at Scottish National Health Service in 2022/23, during which he drafted the first GP guidelines for PoTS diagnosis and management. He has ample experience in the area of device implantation in treatment of syncope, cardiac arrhythmias and heart failure.
