Cristiana is an entrepreneur and experienced health policy professional and clinical leader working at the intersection of cardiovascular care and health systems reform. With a Master’s degree in Global Health Policy from LSHTM and a clinical and management career spanning the NHS, private sector, and academia, she brings a powerful combination of frontline expertise, operational leadership, and policy insight to improve outcomes for cardiac patients and individuals affected by other non-communicable conditions.
A chartered manager, she is the founder of Heart ReWorks, a specialist consultancy delivering high-quality clinical services, education, quality oversight, and research. She is also the founder of Policy Vitals, a digital publication producing evidence-based analysis, commentary, and insight on the policies shaping global health and healthcare systems.
Cristiana is dual-accredited in transthoracic echocardiography by EACVI and BSE, and certified in cardiac rhythm management devices by IBHRE, BHRS, and EHRA. She co-edited the latest edition of the Oxford Handbook of Echocardiography. Cristiana is also committed to gender equity in STEM, regularly attending the United Nations Commission on the Status of Women, and was part of the 2021 cohort of the Innovation Forum Oxford WE ACE programme, designed to support women driving innovation in science and entrepreneurship. She has chaired and contributed to numerous working groups and professional associations throughout her career.
