Position: Professor of Cardiac Electrophysiology and Honorary Consultant Cardiologist
Location: Glasgow, UK

Rachel is a clinician-scientist interested in ventricular arrhythmia mechanisms and the inherited cardiac conditions which cause sudden arrhythmic death. She is Professor of Cardiac Electrophysiology in the School of Cardiovascular and Metabolic Health at the University of Glasgow, and an Honorary Consultant Cardiologist in the West of Scotland Inherited Cardiac Conditions (WoSICC) Service. Rachel’s clinical expertise is in the inherited arrhythmia syndromes, management of arrhythmias in cardiomyopathy and evaluation of patients and families affected by cardiac arrest and sudden arrhythmic death. Her group’s research focuses on understanding the role of cellular behaviour in ventricular arrhythmia mechanisms in the heart, with the aim of identifying new therapeutic targets and better risk stratification tools for patients at risk of sudden arrhythmic death.
