Speaking at: HRC2025
Position: Head of Arrhythmia Section
Location: Barcelona, ES
Dr. Ivo Roca Luque is a cardiologist and international leader in the field of ventricular arrhythmias and catheter ablation. He heads the Arrhythmia Unit at the Cardiovascular Institute of Hospital Clinic de Barcelona, where he directs both clinical care and research programs focused on the management of ventricular tachycardia (VT), electrical storm, and risk stratification in structural heart disease.
His work integrates advanced electroanatomical mapping, cardiac imaging including MRI and CT and novel energy sources such as electroporation. He has been instrumental in promoting a multidisciplinary approach to VT management, particularly in critical care settings, and is an advocate for early intervention in high-risk patients.
Dr. Roca is a frequent invited speaker and moderator at major international congresses, including the European Heart Rhythm Association (EHRA), the Heart Rhythm Society (HRS), and ESC Congress, where he has presented original research and chaired expert panels on VT ablation, imaging integration, and non-invasive mapping strategies.
He is actively involved in consensus initiatives and scientific task forces aiming to define future standards in VT care. As part of the steering committees for several multicenter trials, he plays a key role in the design and implementation of clinical studies evaluating VT substrates, early ablation strategies, and the impact of imaging-guided risk stratification. His collaborations with academic and industry partners reflect a long-standing commitment to innovation and translational impact in the field of ventricular arrhythmias.
