Dr. Valentina Kutyifa is a Tenured Professor of Medicine, Director of the Cardiology Clinical Trial Enrolling Unit at the University of Rochester Medical Center, Rochester, NY, and serves as the Vice Chair for Clinical Research in the Department of Medicine overseeing clinical research operations in 14 divisions with a large team of 2000 faculty members, advanced practice providers, residents, fellows, and staff.

Dr. Kutyifa holds an MD degree, a PhD in cardiac electrophysiology, a Masters degree in health care management, a certificate in clinical research from Harvard Medical School, and a certificate from Cornell in Executive Women in Leadership.

Her research interest primarily focuses on cardiac arrhythmias, heart failure, and sudden cardiac death, and encompasses a wide array of studies related to diabetes, implantable cardioverter defibrillators, cardiac resynchronization therapy, echocardiography, and technology innovations including the wearable cardioverter defibrillator, subcutaneous ICDs, left ventricular assist devices, and new disruptive wearable technologies improving health care delivery and outcomes.
