Dr Steve Parry qualified at Newcastle University in 1991 and gained his PhD in 2001. After a year in Arizona as a medical resident and then a brief period as a budding cardiologist, Dr Parry became profoundly bored with a single organ system and trained in geriatric and general internal medicine, with a longstanding specialty interest in syncope and related falls. He was appointed to a Senior Lectureship at Newcastle University in 2006-2022 when he chose full time clinical work, and Chair at Northumbria University in 2020. He has worked in Commissioning for the last 8 years, currently with the North East and North Cumbria ICB. Steve is currently an Acute Physician at Newcastle Hospitals, with ongoing research and quality improvement interests in fall and syncope.
