Position: Consultant Cardiologist and Electrophysiologist
Location: Oxford, UK

Prof Tim Betts has been a consultant cardiologist and electrophysiologist at Oxford University Hospitals since 2004 after training in the UK and Chicago. He is research lead for Cardiac Rhythm Management, Associate Professor of Cardiovascular Medicine at Oxford University and a member of the Oxford Biomedical Research Centre. He undertakes all forms of catheter ablation, complex device implants and lead extraction. He first started performing left atrial appendage occlusion in 2011, has implanted >400 devices, proctored all over the world and been PI for pivotal studies.

He has authored over 200 original manuscripts and published the Oxford Handbook of Clinical Cardiac Electrophysiology and Handbook of Pacing and ICDs. He previously represented Left Atrial Appendage Closure on the British Cardiovascular Intervention Society Structural Heart Working Group. He runs a broad research programme assessing novel technologies to diagnoses and treat arrhythmias.
