Prof Jonathan Mant has been involved in research on screening and treatment of atrial fibrillation for over 20 years, including the SAFE trial and the BAFTA trial. He is chief investigator of the NIHR funded programme SAFER (Screening for Atrial Fibrillation with ECG to Reduce Stroke), and an investigator in the AFFECT EU programme on digital risk based screening for AF in the European Community.  He is an NIHR Senior Investigator and Fellow of the Academy of Medical Sciences.
