Henry Oluwasefunmi Savage

Position: Consultant Cardiologist
Location: Essex, UK

Dr Savage is a consultant cardiologist who specialises in the management of heart failure and implantation of complex cardiac rhythm devices. He is the lead for heart failure services at the Mid and South Essex Foundation Trust and the Essex Cardiothoracic Centre Basildon. He is an Honorary Senior Clinical Lecturer at Anglia Ruskin University.

He had heart failure training at the Royal Brompton Hospital, London and Papworth Hospital, Cambridge before completing advanced studies in heart failure at the University Hospital of Zurich. He trained in complex device implantation at the Essex Cardiothoracic Centre Basildon.

He was awarded a Doctorate in Medicine, MD (Res) at Imperial college London in 2014. During that period of research, he was awarded the Young Investigator for Clinical Research by the European Society of Cardiology, Heart Failure Association for his work on assessment of sleep disordered breathing in patients with heart failure.

His research interests are in the area of prediction of decompensation of heart failure utilising novel biomarkers and implanted cardiac devices. He continues to contribute towards the development of a contemporary heart Failure service in Essex.
