Jan Steffel, MD FESC FEHRA FHRS, is Vice Chairman and Professor of Cardiology at the University of Zurich, Switzerland where he is also Senior Consultant in Invasive Electrophysiology and Cardiac Devices. He is board certified in Internal Medicine and Cardiology and holds EHRA as well as IBHRE Certification in both Invasive Electrophysiology and Cardiac Devices.

Dr Steffel’s primary research focus is in the field of anticoagulation for stroke prevention in atrial fibrillation as well as novel technologies in cardiac devices such as leadless pacing and the subcutaneous ICD. He is the first author of the 2018- and 2021 "EHRA Practical Guide on the use of NOACs" and is Chair of the EHRA Education Committee.
