Zainab Khanbhai is a Senior Cardiothoracic Pharmacist at Royal Brompton and Harefield Hospitals with a specialist interest in atrial fibrillation.  Zainab is passionate about improving detection and treatment of atrial fibrillation. The Capture AF study which she is the lead for has been developed to address this gap . The Capture AF service is a community pharmacist led targeted AF detection service with integrated referral to a specialist pharmacist at Harefield Hospital with support from the arrhythmia team. Zainab has led this service since 2015, which has shown to successfully improve the identification of undiagnosed atrial fibrillation and potentially reduce the devastating impact of an AF related stroke. The service has been recognised locally and nationally winning several awards and has been presented at the ESC conference. Zainab contributes to the local chronic cardiac conditions group and has provided expert opinion as the AF guardian for the  Centre of Post graduate Pharmacy Education (CPPE). Zainab strives to improve care for patients with cardiac conditions adapting to new ways of working due to the COVID 19 pandemic.
