Position: Consultant Cardiologist
Location: Glasgow, UK

Professor Roy S Gardner is a Consultant Cardiologist for the Scottish National Advanced Heart Failure Service at the Golden Jubilee National Hospital in Glasgow, and Honorary Professor at the University of Glasgow.  He has a specialist interest in advanced heart failure, cardiac transplantation, mechanical circulatory support, and complex devices (ICDs and CRT).

Professor Gardner has numerous appointments, serving as the author and editor of the Oxford Specialist Handbook of Heart Failure and Oxford Textbook of Heart Failure as well as the editorial advisory board for Biomarkers in Medicine. He is heavily involved in clinical research with an active research profile in heart failure, complex devices, and biomarkers.

Professor Gardner is currently the Chair Elect of the British Society for Heart Failure (BSH). He also serves on several European Society of Cardiology (ESC) committees including the heart failure curriculum and examination committee. In addition, Professor Gardner is a scientific advisor and clinical expert for the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) for interventional procedures programme, and scoping workshops.
