Position: Consultant Cardiologist and Electrophysiologist

Prof Faizel Osman is a Consultant Cardiologist and Electrophysiologist working at University Hospital Coventry and Warwickshire NHS Trust. He is Honorary Professor with Warwick Medical School and Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians (FRCP) and European Society of Cardiology (FESC).

Prof Osman was appointed to UHCW NHS Trust in 2008 and is Lead for Cardiac Rhythm Management. He has extensive experience in cardiac electrophysiology and ablation, complex cardiac device implants and device extractions. He also holds specialist accreditations from several organisations including British Heart Rhythm Society, International Board of Heart Rhythm Examiners (US) and the European Heart Rhythm Association. He successfully attained his postgraduate research degree (MD) from University of Birmingham in 2005.

Prof Osman’s specialist interests include AF, cardiac electrophysiology/ablation, implantable cardioverter defibrillators, cardiac resynchronisation therapy for symptomatic heart failure, permanent pacemaker implants, syncope and sudden cardiac death risk assessment. He has successfully supervised PhD cardiology research fellows and has published several publications in the field of arrhythmia.
