Professor Ahmet Fuat
GP Specialist in cardiology and Honorary Professor of Primary Care Cardiology in the School of Medicine, Pharmacy and Health, Durham University, UK

Prof Ahmet Fuat has been awarded an Honorary Chair in Primary Care Cardiology from the School of Medicine, Pharmacy and Health at Durham University. As well as being a GP for 33 years, a GP appraiser, The North East and North Cumbria Clinical Research Network Primary Care Engagement Lead and Primary Care Network Cardiology Lead, Prof Fuat is a GP Specialist in cardiology and, for 17 years, has run an integrated heart failure service across primary and secondary care.

Holding a PhD from Durham University, he is an active researcher and educator in cardiology. Prof Fuat is a member of the Primary Care Cardiovascular Journal and British Journal of Cardiology Editorial Boards and has been instrumental in reviving the Primary Care Cardiovascular Society (PCCS), for which he is the elected President.
