Dr Vishal Luther is a current Electrophysiology & Devices sub-specialty fellow, training at the Hammersmith Hospital. He graduated in Medicine from University College London in 2008 with Distinction, and began specialist Cardiology in 2012 within North West Thames rotations. In 2014, he received a Clinical Research Training Fellowship award by the British Heart Foundation towards a 3-year PhD within Imperial College, where he studied “novel mapping and ablation strategies within myocardial scar.” Dr Luther was awarded his PhD in 2017, focusing on patients with post-AF ablation AT and post-infarct VT. His most important work involved developing techniques using CARTO Ripple Mapping to better define the arrhythmic substrate and improve ablation outcomes. Dr Luther has presented this work extensively in international EP meetings, and published this work in leading EP journals. Having commenced EP and Devices training in 2017, he was awarded EHRA “Certification in Cardiac Electrophysiology Specialist” & EHRA “Certification in Cardiac Device Specialist” Level 1, and also remains part of the Biosense Webster CARTO Ripple Mapping education faculty, training delegates throughout Europe.
