Dr Savelieva MD, PhD (Cardiology), PhD (Electrophysiology), FESC, is Clinical Lecturer in Cardiology at St George’s University of London, United Kingdom. Her main interests are electrophysiology, cardiac arrhythmias, and all aspects of atrial fibrillation. She has been a principal investigator in several large-scale clinical trials in AF and serves on faculty boards of cardiology and specialist arrhythmia societies including ESC, EHRA, HRS, HRC-UK, AHA, and ACC.
She has written extensively on management of atrial fibrillation including major textbooks, such as the ESC Textbook of Cardiovascular Medicine, ESC Textbook on Heart Failure, Textbook of Critical Care, and Evidence Based Cardiology, and lectures nationally and internationally promoting the best evidence-based medical care for patients with cardiac arrhythmias. She served on the ESC Task Force for Guidelines on management of atrial fibrillation in 2010-2016 and on the EHRA Documents Writing Committee in 2012-2022 co-authoring EHRA/HRS/APHRS/SOLAECE/CASSA joint consensus statements and position papers on cardiac arrhythmias and devices.
Other collaborations include AF Science Evolution Working Group, Joint EHRA/AFNET Working Group, and AF-SCREEN International Collaboration Consensus Working Group on AF. She has been Associate Editor and Deputy Editor for EP-Europace, Associate Editor for Clinical Cardiology, and Editorial Board Member for European Heart Journal - Cardiovascular Pharmacotherapy.
