Andrea Baer serves as the Program and Community Development Specialist for Arrhythmia Alliance. In this role, she is responsible for overseeing the charity's programs, including Pace4Life, Hearts of Ghana, and patient advocacy and managing the charity's awareness campaigns.
Driven by personal experience, after her third child was born with a congenital heart defect, Andrea has been actively involved in advocating for cardiovascular patients of all ages for over 15 years. She focuses on ensuring that patients have a voice in healthcare decisions and empowering them to be better-informed consumers, ultimately improving their quality of life through support, education, and advocacy.
In addition, Andrea has served as a peer reviewer for the US Department of Defense's Congressional Directed Medical Research Program, has been published in the Journal of Managed Care for her research on improving medication and treatment adherence through peer-to-peer support, and has testified before the FDA on multiple cardiovascular topics.
Andrea holds a Master of Science in Nonprofit Management and Leadership and is a Board-Certified Patient Advocate. She graduated summa cum laude from Walden University and was the recipient of the President's Medallion. In 2013, she was honored with the Walden University Scholar of Change award for her exceptional work with Mended Little Hearts.
