Position: Consultant Cardiologist
Location: Manchester, UK

Fozia Ahmed graduated from the University of Manchester in 2003 and undertook specialist training in cardiology in the North-West region. In 2015 she was appointed as a Consultant Cardiologist at Manchester University Hospitals, where she specialises in heart failure and cardiac devices. Between 2015- 2024 she served as NIHR specialty co-lead for Cardiovascular Research in Greater Manchester. Cognisant of the need to deliver diverse and inclusive research that improves the lives of people, she is currently Equality, Diversity and Inclusion lead for the NIHR Manchester BRC and CRF. Her research interests include remote monitoring in heart failure, obesity and inflammation in heart failure and inclusive research; with a focus on focus on practice-based clinical trials and re-designing pathways to improve patient outcomes.
