Katie has been a qualified nurse for 27 years, having initially trained in North London in 1994. She worked for a time in South East London as a Clinical Nurse Specialist in orthopaedics and trauma focusing on spinal injury. During this time, she also lectured on the spine to postgraduate nursing students at the Florence Nightingale School of Nursing, King's College London. In 2004, she transitioned to community work, starting as a School Nurse in East London. Here she was nominated for an ‘Innovation in Practice Award’ for developing a resource that facilitated teaching 10 and 11 year olds alongside their parents about the physical and emotional changes and challenges of growing up. Later, Katie undertook a role as a Specialist Contraceptive and Sexual Health Nurse in Essex where she served for many years. Since 2012 Katie has been VP of Customer Success at Patients Know Best, Europe’s largest Personal Health Record platform, overseeing a team of 21 responsible for rolling out all customer implementations. Her team’s deployments are active in over 100 health providers, monthly releasing around 27 million data points to over 4 million registered patients.
