Position: Consultant Cardiologist and Electrophysiologist

Dr Vinit Sawhney is a Consultant Cardiologist & Electrophysiologist at the Barts Heart Centre, London. She did her cardiology and subspecialty training leading to a MD in electrophysiology at Barts Heart Centre, London. Dr Sawhney has a strong research record, publishing many peer reviewed articles, and is an invited speaker at international conferences and meetings in the US and Europe. Her clinical and research interests are ablation and devices in adult congenital heart disease, risk stratification in patients predisposed to sudden cardiac death and outcomes based research in patient safety. She is an honorary senior lecturer at Queen Mary University of London. Dr Sawhney has a MA in Clinical Education and leads the EP simulation program within the trust.  Also, she is passionate about providing safe, compassionate and excellent care to her patients. She has extensive experience in quality and safety governance and is currently the Director of Patient Safety for Barts Heart Centre, London.
