Louisa O'Neill

Position: Consultant Cardiologist and Electrophysiologist
Location: Dublin, IE

Dr Louisa O'Neill studied medicine in University College Dublin obtained her medical degree in 2008. She completed general medical and higher specialist cardiology training in Ireland. From there she undertook a British Heart Foundation research fellowship at King's College London and St. Thomas' Hospital London and was awarded a PhD based on work characterizing arrhythmia mechanisms in patients with congenital heart disease. During this time, she also undertook clinical training in cardiac electrophysiology and cardiac MRI and obtained level 3 certification from the Society of cardiovascular magnetic resonance.  She subsequently completed a period of further training at the Sint Jan Hospital, Bruges Belgium where she gained additional clinical and research experience in novel ablation techniques particularly in the area of atrial fibrillation. She is EHRA certified in cardiac electrophysiology. She is currently working as a consultant cardiologist and electrophysiologist at the Blackrock Clinic in Dublin.
