Giulio Conte has been a senior consultant cardiologist at Cardiocentro Ticino Institute (Lugano, Switzerland) since 2014. He is Chief of Service of the Rare Cardiovascular Diseases Unit. He has been appointed as Assistant Professor of Medicine at Università della Svizzera Italiana (USI) in 2021 and Honorary Visiting Professor at the Free University of Brussels (VUB) in 2019.
His current practice involves all aspects of electrophysiology and management of complex cardiac arrhythmias including catheter ablation and implantation of cardiovascular electronic devices.
His main research activity focuses on catheter ablation and computer modeling of atrial fibrillation, inherited arrhythmia syndromes and cardio-genomics. He is the author of over 160 scientific peer-reviewed articles and presently co-chair of the Scientific Initiatives Committee of the European Heart Rhythm Association.
