Lesley obtained her medical degree at Glasgow University and worked as a GP in both Scotland and England for over 30 years. She is visiting professor at Birmingham City University where teaches on the MSc Advanced Practice. In 2019 Lesley was appointed RCGP Syncope Clinical Champion. In this role she developed an open access syncope toolkit and e-learning module for primary care health professionals
Lesley is chair and managing trustee of PoTS UK, a charity that supports patients with postural tachycardia syndrome. She co-edited a medical textbook called 'Postural Tachycardia Syndrome, A Concise and Practical Guide to Management and Associated Conditions' which was published in 2020. She recently contributed a primary care perspective to the NICE rapid guidelines on managing the long-term effects of COVID-19 and acute COVID-19.
