Patricia Munroe is Professor of Molecular Medicine at Queen Mary University of London. She obtained BSc and MSc degrees from the National University of Ireland Galway, and obtained her PhD from the University of London. Her main research interests are the application of genetic and genomic approaches to identify genetic loci for electrocardiogram markers associated with risk of cardiac arrhythmias and sudden cardiac death and hypertension. She is a co-founder of several international genetics consortia leading to discovery of over 1000 genes for cardiovascular risk factors. She has published over 200 original publications and her work is funded by the MRC, BHF and NIHR.
