Cardiology Consultant Specialising in Imaging and Heart Failure

Dr Simon Duckett graduated from St Georges Hospital medical school in 2000. He trained in cardiology on the South coast, going on to do an MD in heart failure and complex cardiac imaging at St Thomas Hospital. He completed his training with a specialised heart failure clinical fellowship at Southampton University Hospital.

He has been a cardiology consultant based at University Hospital North Midlands for nine years, specialising in heart failure and cardiac imaging. As well as his clinical practise, he continues to be involved in clinical research and developing the heart failure and imaging services at UHNM. He has a particular interest in clinical education and developing training for health professionals to improve patient care. He is secretary for the BSH education committee and secondary care clinical advisor for the West Midlands AHSN.

Outside work he is a keen sportsman previously competing for Great Britain and Wales at fencing and more recently spends much of his free time balancing family life with running ultramarathons and fell running with his dog.
