Position: Consultant Cardiologist

Zaheer is a consultant cardiologist at the University Hospital of Wales and honorary Professor at Cardiff University. He is the clinical lead for heart failure, cardiomyopathies and heart failure devices in Cardiff and has recently helped developed a supportive care service for patients with heart failure approaching end of life. The service has seen significant improvements in patient care with excellent patient and carer feedback, substantial cost savings, and has been awarded the NHS MediWales award for clinical innovation. Palliative care colleagues involved with this work have been awarded Bevan Foundation Fellowships to help spread and scale the model to surrounding Health Boards and other disease areas.
