Position: Heart Failure Nurse Specialist
Location: Leeds, UK
Melanie McGinlay is a heart failure nurse specialist within the Leeds Teaching Hospitals Trust, Nurse Lecturer for the University of Leeds and European Society of Cardiology Nurse training grant awardee. Her experience in providing care for people living with heart failure extends to supporting the Leeds specialist cardiac physiologist and nurse led combined heart failure and device clinic. Awarded runner up in the Health Service Journal Awards 2020; the service received the commentary of ‘highly commended’ for practice in bespoke complimentary optimisation of cardiac resynchronization therapy and medications.
Melanie’s current research interest is around patient-predictors of drug optimisation, cognitive dysfunction and knowledge and how they affect disease management and patient outcomes in Heart Failure with reduced ejection fraction.
