Dr. Steve James runs an Exercise Intolerance Clinic seeing patients with unexplained breathlessness, fatigue or decreased performance and assesses them using a cardiopulmonary exercise test. Together with his insights from time studying sleep medicine, nutrition ad stress he is able to get a detailed understanding of each patient’s limitations as well as create a program for them to improve their health. Dr. James sees a wide variety of patients including high numbers of those with POTS, Chronic Fatigue and breathing pattern disorders as well as those who have been training hard and either wish to improve their performance or have developed a set back that is unexplained. Dr. James worked as a consultant cardiothoracic anaesthetist for seven years at King’s College Hospital in London but now works in Intensive Care and the Exercise Intolerance Clinic.
