Position: Professor of Cardiac Electrophysiology
Location: Leicester, UK

Andre Ng is Professor of Cardiac Electrophysiology and Head of Department of Cardiovascular Sciences at the University of Leicester and Consultant Cardiologist / Electrophysiologist at Glenfield Hospital, Leicester. He is an expert in the management of cardiac arrhythmias especially in catheter ablation and the use of mapping systems. He has a distinguished research profile leading cross-disciplinary teams of talented researchers including basic scientists, clinical fellows and biomedical engineers. He has translated important preclinical findings into clinical markers with the successful development of a novel technology for sudden death risk stratification which won numerous prizes including Medical Futures Award 2011 – Best Innovation in Diagnostics and EHRA Inventors Award 2016, supported by two granted patents. Professor Ng works closely with Industry partners in both pharmaceutical and medical device areas, conducting clinical trials as national chief investigator and principal investigator.

Professor Ng is a Fellow of several professional societies and is currently Vice President (Research & Education) of the British Cardiovascular Society.

In addition, he is a recognized leader in early technology evaluation and development for cardiac electrophysiology, had been proctor for new technologies in various countries and is director of international training courses.
