John Camm is emeritus Professor of Clinical Cardiology at St George’s Hospital Medical School, University of London, UK. Professor Camm graduated from Guy's Hospital, London and pursued a career in cardiology at St Bartholomew's Hospital, London, before moving to St George’s in 1986. Professor Camm is a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians (London, Edinburgh and Glasgow), the American College of Cardiology, the American Heart Association, the Heart Rhythm Association, and the European Society of Cardiology (ESC). He is President and trustee of the Arrhythmia Alliance, Editor-in-Chief of European Heart Journal – Case Reports and Clinical Cardiology and Editor of the European Heart Journal, the European Society of Cardiology Textbook of Cardiovascular Medicine and ESC CardioMed.  Professor Camm has been involved in the production of numerous guidelines, including the ESC guidelines for the management of atrial fibrillation. Professor Camm was awarded the ESC Gold Medal in 2005 and the British Cardiovascular Society Mackenzie Medal in 2008. He has authored or co-authored over 1250 papers.
